We have a few of our police force who ride bikes in the summer time. I am sure this year with the cost of gas, the city is probably glad they have them.

I have heard stories that some police departments are adding "fuel surcharges" to speeding tickets when they have to chase down the offenders.
I guess that won't be a problem for biking officers! :)
