For years, Capital Mall was the only choice for shopping in Jefferson City. It has a Dillards, JCPennys and a Sears as its anchor stores. Lately stip malls are popping up with more options and an Old Navy, TJ Maxx, and Barnes and Noble. I still don't think anyone comes to Jefferson City to shop, but there are options while you are here. I am headed to Kansas City later this week for some relxation and whenever we go to KC or St. Louis, shopping is usually pretty high on my list.

Have a wonderful time in KC. Why isn't there more shopping and diversions in Jeff City. I have only been through there a few times but it seems like a wonderful place and fairly affluent. Wonder why it won't support more places were you can "invest" some discretionary income. Any ideas?
We have the neccesaries. I think it mainly has to do with the closeness of the larger populations. Columbia is only 30 minutes away with a big college population and then you have KC and St. Louis only two hours either way. We only recently went over 50,000 population and many stores have that as a threshold before they will even consider building.
