Jefferson City has an Amtrak stop. It does not seem that the United States has embraced train travel as other countries have. When we were in Australia we took the train everywhere. China also utlilizes rail travel quite a bit. It seems like every year we discuss whether the subsidies to Amtrak are going to be cut, making Amtrak go away forever.
