Today marks the start of state employee appreciation week. This picture is one of many state buildings that looks similar, drab and blah. Not much to really take a picture of with these buildings, but it is where a lot of the work gets done. Many people have opinions about us who work for the state, but let me be the one to say, it is not all that it is cracked up to be. Yes, we get many holidays. This week is one of them. Who else can say they get Truman Day off of work? However, the pay is low, the frustration is often high, and the praise is far and few between. So to all government employees everywhere, I appreciate you.
*this building is actually the Department of Health and Senior Services and where you go to get a copy of your birth certificate, which you now need to get a driver's license and many other benefits.
It is Memorial Day Weekend in the United States. I am able to post regular pictures since Blogger now has scheduled posts.
The official sign of summer. School being over. Only if we all got summer vacation like we did when we were in school.
I wish this picture was a little clearer. The mother robin was pretty nervous I was near and mostly spent the time I was on the deck on the power line or in the tree with a close eye on me. 
Time to dust off the picnic table for the year. This one is looking a little old. Of course, as my daughter says, you don't need a table to have a picnic, you can have one on the ground!
Do you have a lot of new construction going on in your city? We seem to, at least commerical construction. Although, it does not seem that we have anything going into the new buildings, just new buildings going up.
